The house seemed to shudder, and Emily felt a chill tingle down her spine. She brushed a finger down the length of the hinge, examining it closely and noticing the almost invisible crack in the wall where it must open into another space. Emily pushed gently on the wall until she heard a click. The door was small, and she had to turn sideways to squeeze through it. There were no lights in the cavity behind the wall. She pulled out her mobile phone and turned on the flashlight, pleased when she noticed her phone was on eighty-two percent battery.
